Spring Conference 2023

Family Of Yeshua Messiah - Spring Quarterly Conference 2023,   April 1

Prelude music: I Love to Tell the Story

Introduction:

Joseph: I would like to welcome everybody to this Spring Conference. We are so excited here. We have had several volunteers come forth to speak to us this spring, and we have some nice treats from the Lord as well. So we are pretty excited about everything. Let us see; we would like to ask for an opening prayer. Would you come forth and pray?

Opening Prayer: Toni

O God, the Eternal Father, we are so very grateful that we can gather all together and to have this electronic medium to bring us together from all corners of the world. We are grateful for this technology and we are grateful for Thy Spirit that manages to flow and connect us, no matter where we are. We ask Thee to please bless us with Thy Spirit, that we will hear Thy words this evening, that they will touch our hearts and that we will be blessed and apply those words in our lives. And this we pray in the name of Yeshua Messiah, amen.

Welcome: Joseph

I would like to welcome everybody, visitors and guests and people from all over the world. It is very nice to see everybody today and we are very excited, very excited. The song we were listening to is an older song and it is called, I Love to Tell the Story, and it is one of my favourite songs, and I think we will talk about that one a little later on today. What we are hoping to do then is, we will start off with Kevin. Then, we will continue on with Will, and Ted after that.

Safety and Peace: ~ Kevin Castro

Kevin: First of all, good evening everybody, or morning, I think in the Philippines it is morning time, is it not? And very early morning in Africa, if I'm not mistaken, Pastor Ezra? It's good to have you with us here tonight and it's a good thing that the Lord has been merciful in allowing this technology, for us to meet together like this today. It's a great blessing to each of us. Our Heavenly Father is very mindful of every one of us. He is very aware of our innermost desires for each and every one of us. He is aware of our circumstances in life, He is aware of our needs that we have, and He is aware of our prayers, and our prayers are needed now more than maybe ever before for each other as well as the world in general.

Today the world is, as the scriptures describe it, in commotion, and there's a lot going on. You know, we hear of wars, we hear of rumours of wars. There is so much wickedness on the Earth today and it's openly practiced, and it's embraced by a lot of people, and we're constantly bombarded with the scenes of this wickedness in the media and social media, on television and music that is out there today, war with all the horrors that go along with it. It's even brought into the homes of people through television and through other media sources. But it's only brought in if we allow it to be brought in. This is a choice that we make on everything that comes into our home, as most things in life are, and I'd like to talk a little bit about that today. I'd like to talk to about where we can find safety and where we can find peace, the real peace that Father wants us to have and that I think all of us, in our innermost feeling, desire to have. We can choose to surround ourselves with things that are good and that are wholesome. We can do that instead of choosing to watch that which is not good and not wholesome. We can choose safety, we can choose peace. The greatest source of peace and safety is, I believe, found in following the Saviour, the Lord Yeshua. And there is also the safety to be found in each other.

The apostle taught this principle to the people in ancient Corinth, and he said this, this is found in the New Testament and I'd like to share it with you, it is found in chapter 12, and the principle is, and he says,

And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

And in verse 25, he says,

That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

That's true, he is comparing us to, quite literally, the body, he is comparing the Family of Yeshua to the body. So in other words, we need each other. This is a great part of the Lord's plan of helping us to become like Him as we show love to each other and as we care for each other and we teach each other and we protect each other and we mourn with each other when one of us mourns. And we have joy in each other's joys, we experience something that is good that is happening in our lives. It could be a wedding, a marriage, it could be a new baby, it could be many things. And we all feel that same sense of joy and happiness when we do. If we eat our favourite food or dessert, our whole body is happy, from our toes to the top of our head, the whole body feels it. And if I cut my finger and it bleeds, my eyes see it and the rest of my body feels it. We can't really separate those, we're all part of the same great whole, I think. So it's important to keep that principle in mind.

It's just like that in the Family of Yeshua, we're all brothers and sisters and we're part of the same family and we're part of the same body, the Family of Yeshua. And when something wonderful happens to a member of our family, don't we all feel that same joy for him or for her.

So we need to be mindful of this, that we are not just solitary individuals that are wandering the Earth, we are interconnected with each other. And when we broaden, when we enlarge our family relationship to all of Father's children as everybody is a child of God, shouldn't we show love to all of Father's other children as well?

Once again, Paul teaches that principle, he does it in the following chapter, in chapter 13, he says,

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

So it's not important to just talk the talk, it's important to walk the walk. He says "sounding brass," sounding brass is hollow.

It's so important for us to be able to show kindness and love and devotion to each other, just like we show it to members of our immediate family, our brothers, our sisters, our parents, grandparents, and as that world around us increases in wickedness, which it's bad now and it's going to get even worse, it's even more important for each of us, I think, to be able to lean on each other and to be able to support and strengthen each other and as we do, our love and our appreciation for each other increases as well.

These are things that Yeshua taught us throughout his ministry 2000 years ago, as well as by example everywhere he went. Big question is, are we going to follow his example as people, as individuals. The Lord showed us by example that He obeyed every single one of Father's commandments. Each and every time He was given a choice, when He was on the Earth, as we are given choices on the Earth, He chose to do the right thing, and I think he did this to show us that it is possible for us to be able to do that. I can't think of any commandments that Father has given us that we can't comply with, that we can't live. I don't think He wants us to fail. I think He wants us to succeed. And so there's nothing that He has given to us to accomplish, unless He's prepared a way for us that we can do that. He doesn't expect us, I don't think, to be able to do it without His help, He has given us some gifts to go along with that, to strengthen us, to build us, if we will accept it, the gifts are conditional.

The Holy Ghost is perhaps one of the greatest gifts that Father has given to his children when they enter into the waters of baptism, when they become a member of His church, that will help us by way of giving us guidance, it gives us protection, and we have lots of things to be protected from. There are a lot of things our there to distract us in the world, to keep us from receiving the direction from Father. To combat this, we have to learn to control the environment that we live in. We do not want to let the environment control us. We have to choose to be in control, and that's a big thing, it's a key. If you look at a dog, does the dog allow the tail to wag him, or does the does wag the tail. We don't allow circumstances in our life that are not favourable to walking the path that our Father in Heaven wants us to walk, If we choose to do things that are incorrect.

You know, it's important to stay in touch with the Father. I've given this example once before, but I'll share it because maybe not everybody… I think most of us carry one of these things, it's a cell phone, it's a marvel of technology. I remember when these first came out about 30 years ago, a little over 30 years ago. I had one of the original ones that came out in the United States, they called it a Motorola Brick, because it was about the size of a brick and about as heavy as a brick. Today, they are marvels of technology, it basically is a computer, it's a lot more than a cell phone. You can go onto the internet with it, you can go onto social media, which I'm not sure is such a great idea for anybody to be doing, but you can do almost anything on a cell phone that you can do on a computer and that's amazing technology. But there is one drawback that it has, well a couple, because battery life, you know, it doesn't last as long as we want it to, but the big thing is that we have to be within range of a cell tower. We have to be in the right place at the right time. Just the other day, on Friday, I was having lunch with a good friend of mine, and we were trying to call another friend to ask him if he'd like to join us, and we were not able to get through to him on the telephone from the restaurant that we were in. He tried on his telephone first, then I tried on my telephone, neither one of them would work, neither one of the calls would go through and I said, that's kind of odd. But in that particular area of town, there's a mountain that was in between the rest of the town and where the restaurant was and there was no cell signal. We were not in the right place to be able to receive that signal.

And it's much the same with the Spirit of God. We have to be in the right place and doing the right things in order for Heavenly Father to be able to communicate with us. We want that communication to be 2-way, we don't want it to be just 1-way. So we have to place ourselves in that correct environment and us being in control of it is just the key to that. We have to control our thoughts, because our thoughts control everything else. Our thoughts control our words, our thoughts control our actions, and it is so important for us to be able to be in control of those thoughts. The Lord has told us that we will be judged by our words, and by our actions, and by our thoughts.

And so we need to remember to be kind to each other, we need to remember to demonstrate our love for each other, and as we follow this part of Heavenly Father's plan, we become more like Yeshua, and Yeshua is exactly like the Father. And this is the goal for each of us here on the Earth, is to become more like Yeshua, so that we can return back to his presence and back to the presence of our Heavenly Father and to become as they are. This is Father's plan for his children.

Now there's going to be times that we think we know more about what's better for us than anybody else, and sometimes including we think we know more about what's good for us than the Lord knows.

The story is told, some of you may have heard this, of an admiral, a navy admiral, he's in command of an aircraft carrier and he's standing on the bridge of his massive warship, and as he is gazing out the window one night, he sees what appears to be the lights of an approaching vessel, and he orders his signalman, and that's the guy that flashes a message using light, he orders his signalman to flash a message to the approaching ship and he says tell him, change your course 15 degrees starboard to avoid collision. And after the message was sent, a signal from the approaching light, the answer comes back and it says, change your course 15 degrees to port. Well the admiral is irritated by this. He is the commanding officer and he barks to his signalman, I am an admiral, change your course 15 degrees to starboard. And the response comes back from the light, I'm a seaman first class, change your course 15 degrees to port. Well the admiral is incensed by this now, he's angry and he tells the signalman, send this message, we are an aircraft carrier, change your course 15 degrees to starboard! One final message was returned, I'm a lighthouse, change your course 15 degrees to port.

There's probably a few lessons in this story, the chief among them is that we should not be too impressed with ourselves, what we think of ourselves, that we're smarter or better than somebody else. And lesson number two is that it's seldom too late to change the course of our lives to avoid the rocks and pitfalls, just like the ship would avoid the rocks of the coastline that the lighthouse was sent there to guard people against. Heavenly Father has a lot of lighthouses, a lot of things to give us direction, to help us, to guide us.

The world around us, it defines peace as the absence of war, and the Lord speaks of peace as with the peace that we receive from peace of conscience, peace of mind, and the spirit that we receive when we make the correct choices and become one with him, it's awesome. He is the master of the wind and the waves and everything else. The Saviour has tread the winepress by himself, He tread it alone, and He has shown us that we can do anything that Father commands us to do.

It's my prayer, brothers and sisters, that we follow the example that he set for us, that we follow the commandments that our Father in Heaven has given us, that the Saviour has given us, and I leave that message with you in the name of Yeshua Messiah, amen.

Sharing The Good News Of The Gospel: ~ Will Rockwell

Will: Hello everyone! To start out with, I would like to make a call back to the song that was playing when we started this meeting. The song was I Love to Tell the Story and it is a very nice song and I will put it up on screen.

I Love to Tell the Story

1. I love to tell the story of Holy things above,
Of Yeshua and His glory, of Yeshua and His love;
I love to tell the story, because I know ’tis true,
It satisfies my longings as nothing else would do.

CHORUS

I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Yeshua and His love.

2. I love to tell the story, more wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies of all our golden dreams;
I love to tell the story, it did so much for me,
And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.

3. I love to tell the story, ’tis pleasant to repeat,
What seems each time I tell it more wonderfully sweet;
I love to tell the story, for some have never heard
The message of salvation from God’s own holy Word.

4. I love to tell the story, for those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest;
And when in scenes of glory I sing the new, new song,
’Twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long.

It is a very nice song because, as Kevin mentioned, the Lord has a great number of lighthouses out there and this is one of them, or when we tell this story, when we share this story, it creates another lighthouse.

If we want to go through it, "I love to tell the story, because I know 'tis true." Just like the man in the lighthouse is not going to move, and he knows that the other guy, that the aircraft carrier should move because it is true, it is nothing else.

One of the inspirations for this speech is actually in 2nd Nephi. It is a speech that Jacob gave to the people and it is on page 125 for people who are following along, and he says,

Wherefore, it burdeneth my soul, that I should be constrained because of the strict commandment which I have received from God, to admonish you, according to your crimes, to enlarge the wounds of those which are already wounded, instead of consoling and healing their wounds; and those which have not been wounded, instead of feasting upon the pleasing word of God, have daggers placed to pierce their souls, and wound their delicate minds.

Now obviously, why is Jacob sad about this. It is because he loves to tell the story as well. He loves to share his own experiences, he loves to teach others, to build up others, as it says in the song, every time he repeats it, it seems to get even better, because more and more people will hear it and more and more people will receive the message of salvation.

This tells us personally what we should be teaching about. We all should be sharing the good news of the gospel and I know there are lots of sermons and people out there that they will declare fire and brimstone, doom and gloom. Obviously, you are supposed to repent, but there is also you are meant to share the good news of the gospel, the commandments are meant to bring you hope and joy, to share this everyone around you and the commandments and the scriptures and the beatitudes, sermon on the mount, all these things are a guide to help you live your life to be as happy as you can possibly be, to be as happy as the Lord Himself is.

I know I have been saying the good news of the gospel a lot, so I should probably explain or say what it actually is. Every reference I found to it in the Bible or the Book of Mormon is also a reference to the one chapter in Isaiah because he seems to say it best, it is Isaiah chapter 61, it starts in verse 1,

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

And that seems to be a pretty good set of instructions to me. These are things that we ourselves can be doing. I mean, we can bring the good tidings unto the meek because I do not know if anybody has ever tried to be meek before, but sometimes it is difficult, you have to put aside your own pride and everything, especially when you are right, or you think you are right, to show that meekness, to build that meekness within yourself, and it can be an incredible help to someone who is struggling with being meek, to just give them a pat on the back or say, hey, good job, you are doing great, keep at it. That can make a huge difference, that can give someone the strength to keep going. It is incredible the difference, just acknowledging that for someone else can do.

There are more things, of course. It says "to bind up the brokenhearted." I am sure that everyone has known someone that has been going through a hard time or they are just struggling with something, and most of the times, they just need a friend to come over, help them do something, get their life back in order, to bind up their broken hearts, and again, just something small, just to let them know that you care and that the Lord still cares and all these things, and it can change someone in a downward spiral to someone who is rebuilding.

It says, "to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound." Now these do not necessarily have to be bound or imprisoned by other people. Sometimes people are imprisoned by their lifestyles, their old habits that they have been this way for so long, or that they just do not see any other way, or they are held captive by an addiction or a big one is their past sins, where they feel that they have done so much wrong that they cannot ever become better. These are the things are the things that you can set people free from, letting them know that there is a path forward, that they can truly become free of these things.

Well, a lot of these are pretty heavy examples of things that we ourselves can do, but you can see these things in small things of every day. Someone just needs a hand that day, or a word of encouragement, or just someone to listen and tell them, you can do it, there is a way forward.

These are things that we as people who are trying to become like God, these are all things that we can do. This is the good news that we can share, that there is always a path forward, that there is always hope and joy. This is good news for us as well, as we share the good news, as it says in the 4th verse, those who hear it the most often and those who tell it, seem to be hungering and thirsting after it just as much as everyone else.

It says, well, I found it first in Romans, in Romans, chapter 10, verse 15,

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Which also comes from Isaiah, chapter 52, verse 7, it is also the Book of Mormon, 3rd Nephi, chapter 10, page 498 in our book. It says,

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

I do not know about everyone else, but that sounds like something that I want to do, to help to bring peace to each other, to publish these glad tidings, tell everyone that they can be saved, that all these things are possible. It says, "that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" Now, I like that because you are not just proclaiming these things as a call to repentance to the gentiles, you are proclaiming these things to Zion, to the Church of Zion as well, and heaven is within you, so you are proclaiming it to yourself as well, to say to yourself that God reigneth over you, you are doing His work, you are becoming more like Him every time you tell that story and every time you live that story.

There is another verse in the Book of Mormon in 2nd Nephi, 1st chapter, page 65, it says,

Adam fell, that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.

This is very important as well, it goes along with everything else, that we are supposed to be happy, that we are supposed to be joyful and we are supposed to spread that joy with the commandments and with this story, with everything that I have just gone over.

It is interesting because the joy that we have is not just from hearing the good news, and hearing the good news is incredible, it can bring people so much joy and change their life, but it also brings so much joy to the person who is sharing it. When we go out and we share this and we become an example, a lighthouse like Kevin mentioned, we get even greater joy and become even closer to the Lord.

There is one more song that I would like to go through, Have I Done Any Good in the World Today.

Have I Done any Good

1. Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad, and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed!
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today,
Because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?

CHORUS

Then wake up, and do something more,
Than dream of a mansion above:
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.

2. There are chances for work all around just now,
Opportunities right in our way.
Do not let them pass by, saying: “Sometime I’ll try.”
But go and help someone today!
‘Tis noble of man, to work and to share,
Love’s labour has merit alone;
Only he who helps others is already there,
The Lord has no need for a drone.

I really do like this song, and as we are going through it, you will see in this first verse, it mentions a lot of the same things that Isaiah does, "Have I helped anyone in need," have I gone out and looked for something to help. "Have I cheered up the sad or made someone feel glad."

I have a little bit of an anecdote. When I was younger and I went through a course, basically a training course about customer service, and one of the things that they teach you is to smile, smile all the time, smile at everyone. You would be amazed how much of a difference that can make to someone's day. Customers coming through the till, they are running late for something or they are frustrated at something else and maybe they will snap at you or just frown and be really grumpy, and it is amazing how much their day can turn around from a cashier who smiles at them, and is polite even if they were a little rude, and just is happy, makes them feel just that little bit better, and gives them to strength to maybe make their situation seem not so bad.

"Has anyone’s burden been lighter today, because I was willing to share?" Sharing is something that we can all do and it is so simple because, at least for a lot of us, there are often times, we have more than what we need, and it is one of those things where, at least for me personally, I always like to try to have a buffer and I always like to try to be prepared for anything, but one of the things that I should be prepared for is to help someone else. If something that I have, like you are driving along and you come across someone who has got a flat tire, you know, if you have the jack, or the tire patch kit, or one of the many other things you tend to keep in your car just in case, and you can share that, and lighten their burden.

"Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way? When they needed my help was I there?" I mean, honestly, if someone is sick or has had a long day and they need a hand doing something or getting there, most of the time, the only thing it would ever cost you is a bit of your time, and it is a bit of your time, but it makes a huge difference for them. When they needed your help, are you willing to go and help them. That is very important principle, where it does not cost you much, and even if it does cost you something, what else are you going to be using that for? What else is more important than helping someone out.

Then, of course, there is the chorus, "Wake up, and do something more." There are often times if you are tired and you are being kind of grumpy, you would be surprised at your mood turn around if you put yourself aside for a moment and go do good somewhere. It become that, "a joy beyond measure." It makes your problems seem less daunting, a blessing of it's own.

As you keep going, "There are chances for work all around just now," and there always is, it is not hard to find them, even if you live by yourself, way up out the woods, 100 miles from anyone else, there is going to be that squirrel or baby bird that needs your help. This is another important principle, you cannot just let these opportunities pass by, saying sometime I will do it, or saying, well that is not really my problem, or I do not want to get involved, or something like that. You have got to get up and go look for these problems, "Go and do something today." It is easy to say that you love your neighbour, but are you out there helping him, helping your neighbour move, or helping him do what else.

It says, "The Lord has no need for a drone," and you have to ask yourself, what is a drone? A drone is, how about the little robot arm, pick up, put down, pick up, put down, pick up, put down. If you are not out looking or if you do not care enough to actually go and look for those problems, it says, "Love’s labour has merit alone." Where, like I already said, if you are having your own problems and you put those problems aside to go do a labour of love, to go help someone else who needs it, there is merit in that, it is a very important lesson that we all need to learn, that when we do that, our own burdens become light. As Yeshua says, My burden is light and my load is easy, or the other way around. But when we put down our own burden and go help for someone else, help do the Lord's work, it makes all our problems seem much lighter.

I believe that these things, that sharing this good news is very good. This is the good news of the gospel that I believe that we all must learn to share and spread and share it as wide as possible. As it says in Isaiah, it says,

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

When we do these things, we plant those trees as the harvest, we plant those seeds, and they can grow into huge trees and spread and become many more fruits.

And I say these things in the name of Yeshua. Amen.

The Wise Old Orchard Keeper: ~ Ted Rockwell

Ted: Hello everyone! Funny he ended on trees, that's exactly what I'm going to talk about. I don't even have to say anything now. But I will anyway, that's beside the point. The song Will here is talking about last, the chorus says,

Then wake up, and do something more,
Than dream of a mansion above:
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.

That actually really fits in quite well with the story I'm going to tell and what I have to say. So, without further ado.

This is a story about a wise old orchard keeper and as it goes, one day at a local market, there is an old man selling some fruit at a stand at the market. And it's not just any fruit, people from far and near, all over the place, come to buy this old man's fruit. Everyone says it's sweeter and better tasting and just the right texture, better than any other fruit they've had. So it usually sells out pretty quick.

One day, this old man is selling his fruit, his extra fruit, at the market and along comes a young man who sees this and he sees all these people come in and rushing to come get this fruit, and so he goes over and buys a piece of the fruit. He tries it, it's delicious, better than anything he has ever tasted. And he goes up to the old man and asks, where did you get this fruit? It's so good. The old man replies, I grew it myself at my orchard, this is the extra, the stuff I don't keep or give away to friends.

So the young man talks to the old man for a little while longer and they discuss some stuff and the young man decides that he is going to plant and grow an orchard, and just like the old man, sell the extra at the market.

So the young man takes his life savings, he buys up a piece of land right next to the old man's orchard, and he buys some seeds from the old man, and some saplings, because growing trees from seeds takes a really long time, but he buys some saplings. And he talks to the old man a great deal about how to plant them, when to plant them, where to plant them, how to set up watering hoses and everything like that, constantly talking to the old man.

So the young man goes, he plants his orchard and is very, very diligent in taking care of it. He grows the trees, there is not a whole bunch you need to do when you first plant them, but he is very attentive. And every day, when he's got spare time, he goes over to the old man, who's out every day at sunrise, tending his trees, and the young man goes over to the old man and helps the old man do a little bit of the orchard work and talks to the old man and asks him all the questions he can possibly think of on how to grow these trees that he's just planted. And the old man is more than happy to tell this young man how to grow the trees and to have a little bit of help working his own orchard, I mean that's basically every old man's dream right there.

So that is how it goes. The thing is, the young man is very diligent and very patient, but it takes upwards of 4 years for a little sapling to actually grow into a tree that can produce fruit well, or it can produce really any fruit, it takes quite a long time. So the first year goes by and the young man is pretty diligent and he takes care of all the little things and he is always out there helping the old man and asking him questions and taking care of everything.

Pretty soon, upwards to the end of the second year, the young man is actually getting a little bit discouraged, he's getting impatient because it's taking forever for these trees to grow, he looks outside every morning and it doesn't seem that these trees have grown at all, they're just doing nothing. He goes to the old man and he says, this is really hard and they don't seem to be doing anything, and thinking maybe this wasn't the best choice of professions for me to get into. The old man says, you know, you've got to be patient, you have to wait, you have to be very attentive and diligent, it will all take time, but it will be well worth it, every day is well worth it.

So the young man does that, he continues to be diligent, he is very patient. And at the 4th year mark, that fall, he actually gets his first harvest. It's not much, it's just a few little stringy fruits here and there and he takes them and there's barely enough for himself, let alone any to sell. The old man has already harvested his fruit and sold the extra at the market and gave some to his friends and some to the young man next door. At this point, the young man is just basically crushed. He's quite disappointed that he didn't get any extra or anything to sell at the market. He was really looking forward to that and he was hoping that he would have enough, but you know, it still takes a lot longer than 4 years for the trees to really produce to their full potential.

So he goes up to the old man and he asks the old man, he says, you know I'm very discouraged, but how did you do it? How did you manage to wait all this time when you were first starting your orchard? How'd you manage to wait so long before you got any return? And the old man says, Oh, I didn't wait. At this, the young man, What? The old man says, Oh, I didn't wait, I planted these trees from seeds from a piece of fruit that I bought at the market years and years ago, and I just put them in the ground and waited for them to grow, and when that first tiny little shoot of green came above the soil, that made me so happy, there was nothing that gave me greater joy than watching that first little shoot grow out of the ground from the seed, and I'd water it and I'd watch it for days. Pretty soon it had 2 little leaves on it and every day I'd watch it and it would grow, a few millimetres at a time, it would grow and grow and grow. It was just so amazing to see that this life surviving and so miraculous to see and watch and be able to participate in creating this wonderful miracle of nature. And once the trees got bigger, it gave me not greater joy than to see each little bud start to form in the spring and throughout the winter and into the spring, and it gave me no greater joy than to see the tiny little leaves start to unfurl in late spring. And it gave me no greater joy than to water these trees and to make sure they were well watered and the soil was taken care of and piled up around the roots. There was nothing that made me any happier than watching these trees grow.

At this, the young man, he's encouraged, he's kind of, Wow, that's so inspiring. He goes back to his orchard, and it's fall time, so he prepares his trees for winter and he prepares everything. There's not much to do for the trees during the winter time. But he goes out there every day and he checks on his trees and he is very careful to make sure all of them survive the winter without any problems and he keeps doing that every day for the whole winter.

Then one day in the spring the next year, so the 5th year, the old man is out, he's out at sunrise like he always is every day, tending to his trees, and up comes the young man, running over to him and the young man is just smiles and sunshine, he's so excited. He goes up to the old man and he tells the old man, You know what, I just got up this morning and I went outside and I saw all the tiny little shoots that my trees have sent up towards the sun this morning and they're all tiny and there's hundreds of them on each tree and it's amazing! And the old man is like, Yeah, it's awesome.

The young man comes back the next day, early in the morning, and tells the old man, You wouldn't believe it, the leaves are starting to unfurl, it's amazing! It's just the most miraculous thing I've seen. And the young man every day comes over to the old man and tells him this, The leaves they've grown so big, they're shading the ground, making the soil good. He tells the old man everything he does with these trees, he trims the little tiny bits of dead branch and extra tree here and there and he trims them. He's so excited.

In the summer, he sees the first tiny little pieces of fruits just start to form after the flowers, and he is so excited, he tells the old man.

Finally, after doing this all year and the old man is almost more knowledgeable of the young man's orchard than his own at this point, the harvest comes around. It's fall time, the fruit has grown, and this time, there's a little more fruit than last time on the young man's orchard, so he has enough for himself, enough to give to his friends, and just a tiny bit extra to sell at the market.

He goes out one morning and his fruit is perfectly ripe and he picks a piece and he tries it and it is the most amazing fruit that he's ever tried, even more amazing than that first fruit he tried from the old man at the market 5 years ago. This is incredible, beyond compare! He runs over to the old man and the old man is out in the morning, tending his trees, harvesting his own fruit, and he runs up and he gives the old man a piece of this fruit and asks the old man to try it and the old man tries it. It's delicious. The old man says, This is really good fruit, and the young man says, Yeah, it's amazing.

The old man then asks the young man, How was it? How was the waiting? And the young man says, Oh, I didn't wait.

That's the end. And now everyone is like, How much did he sell at the market??? But that's not the point. Just like that song, "Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure." Instead of dreaming of his mansion above, instead of looking for this reward at the end of the season of fruit, the young man learned and figured out and did his best to find joy in everything that was happening around him every day, all the things that he was doing and it gave him pure joy just to be working for this orchard and helping it grow and taking care of the trees to the point where the reward, the harvest, the payoff, wasn't really a payoff, it was just another day in him taking care of this orchard.

A lot of people tend to have very high expectations of heaven and what being a really good person is, saying if I do this, if I go out and teach people every day and take care of these people and help old ladies across the street, I'm going to get into heaven and that's going to be awesome. They don't seem to realize that that's not really where the joy is, that's just kind of there, it comes and goes as the years and days do. But the real joy is found in the every day, from day to day, finding things to help and watching things grow and watching how they work and doing your best to help and move forward. That's what the old man did and he seemed pretty happy.

That was my bit, thank you.

Updates: Joseph

Thank you guys for speaking with us today. I would like to give a couple of updates on a couple of things that are going on at the moment here. We are looking forward to the borders opening a little bit more and to be able to get out and do a little bit of missionary work, travel to a few different countries. And, we are expecting this to start this year, so we are very happy, and look forward to some missionary work beginning again this year. After the closure of the borders, it takes a little bit of paperwork to get everything started back up.

As far as being able to connect with everyone, the Family of Yeshua is getting more and more organized all the time, and we are connecting more on social media. We are connecting more on the forum, and people are very welcome to come onto the forum, and to ask questions and participate in the conversations. We hold gospel discussion every Monday evening; well, Monday evening our time. And, if anybody would like to connect and join in, in those discussions, you are more than welcome.

We are expecting our new temple to be completed this summer, when the snow melts away and construction can resume.

And, we would like to also help people understand, this Family has a ministry. We go off of the donations of our members here, and it is an active ministry, although small, to help feed the poor, sometimes provide housing, and help people in these ways that they cannot help themselves. And we would like to encourage everyone to consider joining in that ministry and helping people; help spread the gospel; help take care of their brothers and sisters.

I think we will go ahead with our next speaker. Because we have several folks that speak Tagalog, we will also address a little bit in Tagalog this day.

Pag-Ibig ng Diyos: ~ Maria Rockwell

Maria: Hello.

~ 2 Nephi I, pg. 65

~ Enos 1, pg. 145

Pagpalain nawa kayong lahat ng Diyos! Amen.

The Love of Our Heavenly Father! ~ Joseph Rockwell

Joseph: For those of us who do not speak Tagalog, I would like to go over a little bit of what was just spoken. I would really like to talk to everybody about the love of our Heavenly Father and the scriptures tell us that

Men are, that they might have joy.
~ 2 Nephi 1, pg. 65

This is not that men are that joy should come to them, but this is that men are that they might create joy. We were created for joy. But the question remains, how do we get joy, how do we create joy? Our Saviour, Yeshua Messiah, came to show us how to live our lives here on the Earth in a way that we can create joy, and have joy with Him in the Kingdom of His Father, forever

And since the time of Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden, people have tried to get back into the presence of God. And Adam was promised that a Saviour would come to show everyone how to get back to God. The scripture says,

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
~ John 3:16-17

Heavenly Father loves all of us so much that he actually wants us to come home. He wants us to come back to Heaven; He wants us to succeed. He does not want us to feel as though we can never come home. He wants us to know that He loves us. And He loves us so much that He came to Earth to show us how we can live our lives that we can enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Yeshua taught us to change and to be nice to each other and to live in peace with each other. Remember, it says,

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
~ 3 Nephi 5, pg. 479-480

We are part of the Family of God, we are part of Heavenly Father's family, so how should we treat each other? How should a family treat each other? We need to remember that this is the way to create joy. We should be willing to

bear one another's burdens that they should be light.
~ Mosiah 9, pg. 192

We should be willing to

mourn with those that mourn,... and comfort those that stand in need of comfort.
~ Mosiah 9, pg. 192

We should have our hearts so

knit together in unity and in love one toward another,
~ Mosiah 9, pg. 193

that the angels would come around us, because they can see in us that we are

the children of God.
~ Mosiah 9, pg. 193

That we care for each other so much, not merely caring in our emotions, but caring in our actions, in our behaviour, helping each other and taking care of each other.

And if we belong to the Family of God, we would be willing to do this for God: to actually be nice to each other; no more saying rude things to each other; no more saying sarcastic things to each other; no more hurting each other's feelings; no more holding a grudge, but to forgive all the time.

This is what God does. And what better way to

stand as a witness of God in all times, in all things, in all places that we may be in, even unto death, that we may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that we may have Eternal Life.
~ Mosiah 9, pg. 192

What better way to stand as a witness of God, than to do what the Lord has done?

We should stand for God, but we should stand peaceably for God, because He is our Father, and He is the Father of Peace. We should support our Heavenly Father in His quest for peace.

Whoso believeth in God, might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God.
~ Ether 5, pg. 563

See, any of us who actually believe in God enough to follow Him, we can be positive that we will have a place at the right hand of God, a place of peace. This place comes because we make it a peaceful place. If we have a person who is aggressive, maybe a little bit mean, what do you think would happen to Heaven when that person got there? Would it not cause some disturbance?

We need to look within ourselves, never within the person next to us, do not look inside them, but look inside ourselves. Will we be ones who make Heaven a nicer place? Can we improve Heaven because we are more peaceful? Can we make Heaven into a more loving place? Not for us, but for everyone else. Can we be selfless like the Lord is selfless? Of course we can!

So let us glorify our Heavenly Father and let us believe in His promises and trust our Heavenly Father. Even through all the challenges this world has to offer, let us put our trust in our Heavenly Father. Meaning, let us be peaceful like He asks, and watch Him do His miracles.

There have been many promises and prophecies in the scriptures; and the prophesies tell us to look forward to that day, to look forward to that day when the Saviour will come again. But often times, we seem to leave out the part, about when the Saviour comes again, the part that precedes that. The part that immediately precedes the Saviour's second coming is always when the people repent of their sins; when the people stop being aggressive; when the people beat their swords into ploughshares. When the people start walking peaceably and becoming the children of God, then God will return.

It is up to us.

It is up to us; and for this, I would like to share another prophecy. And I have someone here who would read this prophecy for us.

Arise and shine ye holy men,
Fill the world with praise often.
Become the Zion that you seek,
Give strength and safety for the meek.

The time is now, we must prepare,
Our children's children will be heirs.
The Lord will raise a mighty throng,
If we but join in faithful song.

Watch the Lord His house prepare,
A Holy city will be there.
United in our Father's cause,
Filled with power; the world gives pause.

By thousands thousands they will come,
It's not since Moses it's been done.
A mighty exodus (to) come forth,
A Holy City from the North.

~ Amy Rockwell

I have asked Amy to read that to us because this is a prophecy that we will see come true, and it is a prophecy that has come through the prophetess and it has been verified.

It is important for us to pay attention a little bit to this prophecy; it fits in exactly with what we have been talking about this conference. It is up to us to arise; it is up to us to shine.

I am going to actually share this so that everybody can see it here. There we go. (The prophecy was put up on the screen.)

So it is up to us to arise; it is up to us to shine forth; it is up to us to fill with world with praise. And how do we fill the world with praise, but to become the Zion that we are seeking. Zion does not come after the Lord comes. Zion comes before the Lord comes. Which means it is up to us. We need to give strength and safety for the meek. It is up to us that we can do these things. If we do not stand up for the Lord and for His meek, He will not come. But someday, the prophesy is, that people will prepare and they will begin this rock rolling down the mountain. This is their children's children will be heirs. This is not they themselves, but they must begin the work, and if they do not begin the work, then their grandchildren will not be the heirs. It will be the children's children of those who actually do the work. How selfless are we?

It says, "The Lord will raise a mighty throng, if we but join in faithful song." It says "IF." We are the ones that need to join together. We are the ones that need to be faithful to each other, to the Lord. We must never look for problems or faults in our neighbour, in our spouses, in our children, in our friends, in our enemies. We must never look for faults in them. We must always just look at ourselves. This is how the Lord will raise a "mighty throng." We must watch the Lord prepare His house. This is how He prepares His house. In other words, His family is made up of these people.

"A Holy City will be there, united in our Father's cause" Can we unite? Can we fill the world with power from our Father, in other words, can we fill the world with love? When we do, the world will stop and look, they will consider and they will consider our Father in Heaven.

"Then by thousand's thousands, they will come. It's not since Moses it's been done. A mighty exodus (to) come forth, a Holy City from the north." Let us be very wise in remembering. They will come because we set the example. They will come because we get along. They will come because we are at peace. We never so much as think or feel the slightest negativity toward each other. We are at peace, we are a family, we are love, we take care of each other. The exodus that is to come is this family, those who are familiar with the Sacred Circle will understand how this Holy City comes from the north. It is very important to understand that we must unite in selflessness for this to happen.

I would like to encourage everyone. I would like to encourage everyone to keep on trying. The Lord wants us to come home. He desperately wants us to come home. He has sent His Son to invite us to come home. He has sent all of His prophets to invite us to follow His Son. And like all the prophets, I would like to add my testimony to theirs: that if we turn our hearts to God, if we keep His commandments, if we endure to the end, if we are peaceable with each other; no more putting each other down, but being kind to each other; no more looking if that person is putting me down, or they are not doing what they should be doing; but, if we be the example and we take up our cross; and this is our cross, and if we can take it up; when we stand before His face, we will hear our Saviour say to us those beautiful words that say:

Come unto me ye blessed. There is a place prepared for you in the mansions of My Father.
~ Enos 1, pg. 145

This is my testimony. And I know that the Lord wants us back and He loves us; and this is His work, to gain us back; and this is how we come back to Him. May God bless you all. Amen.

Conclusion: Joseph

Brothers and sisters, we have been talking for a little while here and it is so important that we actually can understand what each other are saying, are talking about; our communications need to be in kindness and understanding. We need to be slow to respond, that we can consider each other's point of view, each other's opinions. We need to get along. The Lord has promised us that if we will do these things, He will come to us. This is our goal, not that He will come, but that we get along. Let us make this place a Heaven on Earth.

What would happen in Heaven? When you consider yourself going to Heaven, how will you be treated? What do you expect will come there? Do you think people will understand you? Do you know that your Lord will love you? Are you certain that people will be kind to you? All of these things are true. But who are the people who will be kind to you? And who are the people who will be kind to others? If there are folks in Heaven who will be kind to you, are you not the ones who will be kind to them? We need to create this kindness. We need to stop being so harsh with each other. So, can you be the person that when someone comes to see you, and they think that they are in Heaven because of how you treat them? Will you take up that cross? Will you be like our Saviour? And will you create that Heaven, even if the people are difficult, will you treat them as your Saviour will treat you? Will you take up the cross of the Saviour. Will you create Heaven?

These are some nice questions, and I believe these questions are at the root of agency. It is entirely up to us, if we will create this family of peace, if we will create the Lord's family here upon the Earth. No daddy would ever leave a family that created, He will come to us, He will come and see us, He will not leave us alone. He would come to us all the time. If we are His family, He will be there. So my proposal is that we recommit ourselves, we try hard, and we never find fault with each other, but we go out of our way to help each other.

I asked the Lord one time, how it was done, and he responded by saying, because you are trying to be like me. Let us all try to be like our Saviour. Let us not try, let us all do it. Let us all be like our Saviour.

So as we close this meeting this evening, let us go around and give it a try, anybody we interact with, let us be like our Saviour, let us give it a try.

Tomorrow is the Sabbath day; well here, it is already the Sabbath day on the other side of the world; but the Sabbath day is a beautiful day. Can we take a break from our world? Can we rest from all our worldly cares? And can we just, for every Sabbath day, be the Saviour? Can we be just like Him: love each other, have patience with each other, be kind to each other, help each other, never take offence from each other, never look at something bad from each other? Can we carry those sins, each other's sins, and not let it bother us? Can we carry that cross at least for the Sabbath day? Can we take a break from the world? After all, the Sabbath day was made for man to have a rest; a rest from the world. And as our Saviour said, it is good to do well on the Sabbath day. So, let us try to emulate Him, always and forever.

Thank you everyone for joining us this evening. We would like to have a closing prayer.

Closing prayer: John

O God, the Eternal Father, we thank thee that we could be gathered together over the internet. We thank thee for Thy angels, for Thy Holy Spirit here during this meeting to witness unto us what is correct. We ask Thee to please bless us that we can retain the things that we have learned here in our heads and in our hearts and we can do them and everything, and we can apply them in our families and in our houses and our workplaces and with our friends, that we might be examples and like the Saviour. In the name of Yeshua Messiah. Amen.
